ARC+ Buildworks = Sustainability on Miami Beach

Buildworks is proud to announce it’s founding sponsorship of the Architectural Research Collaborative and participation in the ARC+ Buildgreen program.  The Architectural Research Collaborative or ARC+, is a non-profit organization that harnesses the creative powers of architecture and the arts to drive innovative solutions in support of sustainable-city initiatives and eco-friendly urban planning solutions.

At Buildworks we believe the best advertisement for an architect is their finished product, and we believe strongly that the closer the collaboration between architect and builder the better the built product.  That is why we are so excited about helping to create the ARC+ Buildgreen program.

ARC+ and Florida International University’s College of Architecture + The Arts (CARTA) have embarked on a collaborative effort to create enhanced educational programs and opportunities for architecture students and the South Florida community.

“As a builder with an Architectural background, I understand the challenges students face and know the importance of real world experience. Buildworks and South Florida are both beneficiaries of a highly skilled work force, and we are thrilled to be a founding sponsor of the Architectural Research Collaborative. I view this as a natural extension of our constant commitment to building a better Miami and our continued support of FIU and the Miami Beach Urban Studios, ” said Joey Woodworth, President of Buildworks, Inc.

Throughout the semester, Buildworks will be hosting site visits for FIU students at two current projects under construction on Miami Beach, 8 West Rivo Alto and 430 West Dilido Drive. We will be giving student’s valuable insight into real world construction experience and the translation of their designs into the built environment.

A little education can go a long way to inspire change for the future. Please join us in our support of ARC+. Visit to learn more.
